Computer keeps crashing

hi,

how it started was when i reinstalled my windows, my sound wasnt working. i tried to install the drivers but everytime i got close to it installing it crashed! after a few times of trying it installed it finally went in, but then everytime the XP loaded fully it crashed again! i put the recovery disc in to reformat and start again... now its crashing halfway threw install XP so i cant get anywhere close.

any help would be marvelous

how old is your hard disc?

brand new... its bin in a week at most!
