Best Computer

Thanks alot, MooseMan. I cant believe all the great help you all are giving me on this forum. My son, who is coming back from overseas, got me hooked on computers and gives me his old ppc's and laptops and I , in return, learn as much as I can ,through all of you, on keeping them working and search for great tips and things. He is very rough on laptops , one a year, his last laptop puchased in Feb lasted 2 weeks when he spilled coffee :) So not sure what he had to get now :) Thanks to forums, he thinks I am a genius (You can fool some of the people ... ) .

Thanks again to all of you , I will let you know what I get.

I actually didn't see that system. That would also work just fine if not better. The 3 gigs of memory is a good thing and the graphics card can run vista well.

Sure the TV tuner would work with any channel. Its just like DVR but on your computer basically. Thats one of the functions of Home Premium is the Media Center within it. After you configure it you can use it for any channel or show.

Instead of putting a TV in your office you could get a primary monitor then run a second set to run off the tuner card and watch tv on your 2nd monitor.

But if you don't need it I'd go with the AMD system you have listed.

Dude, I'm sorry, I thought your link was showing me something specific on Tiger Direct and it just said "Shopping cart was empty" in the middle of the page so I misunderstood .

You helped alot just by answering my post , so thank you for that. :)
It always has a shopping cart.

Thanks again everyone , I cant wait to show my husband the rest of your posts when he calls on his break. You all are the best

Well, I bought the one on Newegg, with the TV tuner, it should be here today or tomorrow by UPS. I am very excited. Now I have 3 other things I have to do. Not sure if I should post them in other sections or just have you all help me.

1. How to use and get the most of the Tv Tuner, since it will take the place of my tv, also do you have to hook up your Tv cable to the computer ?

2. I need to get a faster wireless router for my new computer , either a Linksys speedbooster G or a speedbooster N , plus a new wireless card . I am not sure what the difference is between the g and the N

3. I need to buy a new monitor to go with the computer to watch tv on , my husband wants to maybe spend a few more and go with HD ( ?)

1. I might be wrong, but there is no such thing as an HD monitor, I believe that if you have an HD DVD reader, then any AVI monitor will do the job.

2. The TV tunes is straightforward, the user manual should do a good job, but I can help you out if you tell me which one it is.

3. I have Wireless G and I am pretty happy with it.
