Well I bought this HP Colorado with a 5GB Tape, and it connects to the FDD connector. Problem is: No PCs I own has an option for tape drives. The only one with a potential is my CompaQ K6-2 500. Now, how can I plug in my tape drive into the computers of today? I'd really like to use the tape for backup, as it can do better than diskettes or CDs.

Are you saying that none of your motherboards has a floppy disc connector on them? That's a bit unusual.

When looking through the manual, it says it's uses a standard 40pin IDE cable.

Have you tried installing it to see if Windows will recognize it? If it shows up in device manager, or you get the new hardware wizard at startup, just point it in the direction of the folder with the drivers in it. If you have no drivers, I'm sure you can find them here: HP Tape Drive Setup, install, and configure.
