Is there an adapter for this?

well i have a DVI cord and my Video card is DVI-I and the cord is DVI-I

But my montior is DVI-D so wat i want to no is there an adapter to change DVI-I to DVI-D and is surgery required or do i have to buy a new cord

you shouldnt need an adapter. i have a DVI-I cord connected to a DVI-D monitor and it works fine.

my graphics card also has DVI-D out

but it wont fit cuz a DVI-I has an extra 4 pins

what? im pretty sure my monitor and video card are DVI-D, but have a DVI-I cable linking them. have you even checked to see if it will fit?

yea a DVI-I has 4 extra pins around the flat pin when a DVI-D has just a flat pin
