nah only joking you guys do a very good job every single one of you's. Only wish there was some way i could help rather than just reporting them which makes me fell pretty useless

Just as well you are joking 'cos if you did watch, you'd be battered by all the major porn sites on the web, a young relative did that, & he got got so many viruses that his PC crashed continually, he found them all eventually, most were in hidden files, & yes he had the best AV installed, plus two firewalls etc, & it still happened!

Well, I believe rot13 is saying that even if we do ban all proxies from getting access to the site, we would still get spammed. Sure it might be less but there would always be the members that sign up just to spam.

As for the young relative, yeah it is very risky to try and go onto a website filled with viruses. I try to avoid it, but if I absolutely have to, I set a system backup so if I do get flooded, I have a backup.

That's OK, yeah, he was so convinced that his rig was jinxed, that he gave it to a pal, then got round his father to buy him a £2000 job , [his dad is a soft touch & rich too!!]

Yeah the only way to stop spamming 100% is to shut the forum down. Or moderate all posts going through.

Depends on what you call spam anyway its a generic term with different interpretations, its not always advertising it could just be a load of rubbish somebodys come up with

Usually, in the banning options that David has, he can ban every account with the email of @trivia.info.


One time, at RGF, i've had a big spike of .info e-mail addresses. What I did was to enter: @*.info

EVERY email address with .info at the end are now banned.

Depends on which ones. I've seen any and all work great along side the windows firewall, but have some confilicts with other software firewalls. If you have a router, that is a firewall too, so most people are ususally be hind atleast one.

people may need proxies to view at school/work.
i dont have that problem yet but im sure some places do

Yea, I'm at work now and I'm behind a proxy so that would be bad.
