Yeah because whenever you report, you are basically sending a PM. You have to wait 300 seconds just like with a PM.

Not all the spam posts had porn pics, of paris hilton, a lot were, but some were medical stuff, to me it could not be just coincidence that the porn ones were unconnected, I reckon it's a large organisation, all the names were foreign, so it follows that the users are holed up in a country somewhere & is untraceable, I ran all of them through vB, but could find no connection between any of them all their IP's were radically different, this is no penny-ante set-up, it's a well-oiled business business partnership, & I very much doubt that we'll ever be able to trace it, they've covered their tracks too well, & as to stopping them, no chance I think, they'll suddenly stop, not having any luck here, & move on to try & sucker another another site.

Its the email delay somewhere in the admin cp . Its just annoying that you have to wait like a few minutes to report anopther post

Theyre spammers, their ultimate goal is to dump their crap anywhere and hope that somebody reads or looks at it. If they're foreign they were probably coming through some proxy from somewhere to hide their tracks.

Spammers just target a mass audience and hope for the best, when thye target specific indivudals it becomes social engineering which is totally different.

Well, I believe rot13 is saying that even if we do ban all proxies from getting access to the site, we would still get spammed. Sure it might be less but there would always be the members that sign up just to spam.
