If you cant find it that way do it this way go into start menu CONTROL PANEL, select SYSTEM, then HARDWARE, then DEVICE MANAGER.

Never saw your edit lol, so you have no errors on your sound, hmmm, Im running out of ideas, apart from faulty speakers I dont know , hang fast a bit to see if someone else comes up with any ideas. Is this a new game you just installed?, you could try taking it off, or running a windows repair from the XP CD just select save settings so you keep all your data.

is your sound turned down/musted? look at the speaker icon in the system tray, and double click it. move all the sliders up.

Check to make serue its not muted etc like mentioned above. You could also do a system restore to a few days earlier.
