weird clicking sound

I'm very confused -- my computer makes a clicking sound even when nothing is clicked, like the clicking sound when you click something in your internet explorer, only I'm not clicking anything, and I think it's a spyware problem or something... can anyone help?

to check for spyware download, update and run these programs

dont use internet explorer.

It could possibly be an ad on a webpage in the background.
