Printer & Internet Explorer Issues

Can anyone help me solve some printer issues?

Whenever I try to print from Internet Explorer, such as when printing payment confirmations or really just anything, the job never gets printed. It just stays in the list of documents waiting to print and it keeps my printer from printing anything else. I've deleted my printer and reloaded it and the drivers and tried a few other things, but I can't figure out what is causing this. Please help me, as this is driving me crazy. This has not always been a problem.

Compaq Presario SR2030NX (About 8 months old)
Windows XP Media Center Edition Ver. 5.1
Internet Explorer Ver. 6.0.2900
HP Deskjet D4160 Printer
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4ghz Processor

Does it always do that with IE or does it not print from other programs as well?

So far, only IE. But, when it does occur with IE, then nothing else can print later. I have to shut the computer off, and then when it powers back up, it will then sometimes print the IE stuff and everything else.
