AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ Processor
2Gb Corsair Ram
250GB HD

2 SLI Running Geforce 8400's GS 256mb PCI-E Vid Cards..

I realized that was the bottneck of my system. They suck. Try playing a game like Armed Assault with those video cards and it was terrible. Even on very low setting I could not get more then 15 fps.

It ran games like Company of Heros Average but not that well.

So I bought this today.

My question is.. Will it be a big improvement? I wanted a card that was easy on my wallet but could also run Dx10. I didnt really wanna spend 400-500$ on a 8800 right now.

The specs look good on it though. How will it fair up to most PC games on the market or ones that are coming out in the near future?

8600 gt is equal to a 7700 i think.

i reckon looking at the rest of your rig you could be looking at most games out now at around medium settings and anything coming out in the next coupla months the same
You could have gotten rid ofthe 8400's like on ebay then put it toward an 8800

srry for high jacking but would a 1.5ghz 2mb cache, 2gb memory and a 8400m gs
have a lot of bottleneck?
