AM2 Build

I need a good recommendation on RAM and a motherboard.

Requirements, mobo must be PCI-E, AM2, ATX, must be $80 or less.

Ram: 2 gigs, DDR2. Must be $100 or less.

Must be from www.newegg.com

Don't give lectures on why it should be intel, just help me with what I want here.

This system is meant to be a mid range gaming rig. Nothing fancy.

Hmm. yeah that was the motherboard I was looking at too. It seems pretty good. I'm going back and fourth on the ram though. The other one i'm looking at is:

I would go with the one you posted, since it has the heat spreaders. That will help dissipate the heat inside your rig.

Erm, sorry ssc456, just got a thing for MSI boards myself. Haven't failed me yet. One of the sets of RAM goes over $100, so Mike probably won't want them.

Nice asus board. Though I gotta say I'm somewhat MSI biased as well. 4 boards over 5 years, not a single issue.

I agree, I have been a "loyal MSI customer". No problems of any sort. I actually had an issue with an Asus board once, but it was a DOA and I don't condemn Asus for it. Just from a bad batch, I assume.
