Do you need some sort of adapter card for you PC if your rig already has a modem for dial up.

It typically uses your network jack if you have cable internet. It occasionally uses your USB port, depending on the setup. So, unless your computer is older than dust, you should be fine.

no, it is like that, except it is bigger. It is usually next to other ports like the sound ports and stuff. It looks like a phone jack, but wider. If you don't know already, you would get a cable modem, which will take it from coax cable to either USB or Ethernet (network)

BTW, the network jack usually has lights on it. Look for those. They most likely won't be lit, but you can usually see them.
