Good apartment dogs.

Hey guys, what dogs do you recommend for apartment living?

I was thinking beagle, but they bark a lot and my neighbors would not be too happy.

I was thinking of Schnauzers but I am not too sure.

So what dogs are good for apartments?

labradors are always good dogs as there are very timid and easily trained.

they do need alot of walking but thast the same with any dog.

Well, labs are pretty big. I was thinking of a smaller dog.

I have a beagle that only barks when you say "wanna go' or 'wanna eat' otherwise she is quiet as a mouse.

1. Where is the best place to get one.
2. How do you train it not to bark a lot.
3. Are males louder than females.
4. Would they be good apartment dogs?

But seriously, Fox Terrier's are cool medium sized dogs.

I'm researching for you right now, and IMO its a toss up between Fox Terriers and Beagles. I happen to like Beagles, my uncle has one, she is an awesome little dog.

I just got mine at the pound. she was about 3 when I got her (human years), and she was always a quiet dog.

if you wanna train a dog not to bark, just grab their mouth every time they bark and tell them no.

Hold their bottom jaw. Like grip the whole noze like you are going to wrap your hand around it, but dont put your thumb and index finger across the top of the nose, and take your other hand, and take your index and middle finger and hit his nose across the top and with out yelling say no with your voice raised and serious tone look him in the eye.
