right have u tried reinstalling the drivers for your PCMCIA slot ?

i had a similar problem my wireless card kept disconnecting so i reinstalled the drivers for my actual slot then it worked

Yep all the drivers are installed for the slot.

Maybe try updating the drivers. I doubt that would be it but since everything else has been tried. If not reformat like celegorm said. i know that has helped me a couple times when i tried everything i could think of. Pain in the ass i know.

I doubt the drivers are the problem if it's freezing when trying to install vista.

Okay. I just flashed the BIOS to the newest version. I just reinstalled XP also. I am running outta options except to throw this thing out my window!

do u have a firewall set up because it only takes seconds to get a virus and reboot it up dont have the card in there, set up a firewall and all of that jazz and then insert the card

Yeah I have a firewall, and the internet was never connected to it.
