new soundcard

I'm thinking of purchasing a new sound card in the near future though I really don't want to spend anywhere near 100 dollars. Can someone point me to a moderately priced sound card that'll show a really improvement over my soundblaster live card that I have right now? thanks

Your going to have to spend some money for an improvement over your current card. For example, something like the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer 7.1 for $90.99.

Ahh.. I see, I was afraid of that, well I guess I'll have to put off the purchase for now =/

make sure you have good speakers first. if the crisp sound comes out of crappy speakers that ruins the point of a new sound card

Yeah, I decided I might need to upgrade my video card because I just ordered a set of Logitech X-540s, certainly not the best, but for 35 dollars, I just couldn't resist. I'm using Logitech Z-3s right now.

creative x-fi extreme gamer is crap. Don't get it. If you're really into it, get a Creative X-fi fatality card. Or the Auzentech X-fi Prelude card.
