How would you guys react?

Ok, well as most of you know, I just got back from a vacation which did involve 2 passes through airport security.

On the way back the secuirty people picked up "something" in my carry on (second time it happened to me, first time was on a different trip). The main guy in charge asked if it was OK for him to search my bag (like I really was able to say no).

Turns out, the spare batteries and the GBA light I had had come together too closely and resembled a bomb part. The guard appoligized for the inconveniance and looked like he excpected me, or my dad to be angry. I just smiled at him and said "thanks for doing your job and keeping me safe" and walked away (not in a smart tone, but a sincere one).

Would you guys have said something similar, or have been mad that they occupied your time?

PS The first time was on my way back from Honolulu. (Notice I said back) Apperently my hunting knife had made it through my pre-pack bag check, as well as Milwaukee Airport security in my Carry-on. The honolulu guards saw it, and asked if I wanted to go back and check it, or for them to throw it away. Since it was covered in hunting battle-scars, I just had them toss it.

Ok well tbh my dad taght me this saying it goes , Dont get made get even .instead of wasting your energy getting mad just givem some witty smart comments , they wont like it but it isnt against the law
also what would you have proved by getting angry they would have just got security to escort you away anyway so there would have been no point . If i where you i would have said something a bit smarter and witty i am always one with quick witty things to say in situations like this and i find it more satisfying to attack someone with the tongue (metaphorically) then any kind of physical threat or show of anger ever would when i am pissed of or someone has gone out of their way to make things inconvenient .
Just as a matter of fact in this situation i hope you don't mind this question and if you do just say but what color is your skin as some people have said airport security only search people that dont have white skin i dunno how factual that is but hey i dont fly so it dosent bother me

I would not be angry. I would know it is keeping our country more safe. Not saying your a hijacker but if you were and he didn't check you back because it looks suspicious, then where would this country be.

Yeah but it depends you see cos like if they are only picking out particular people because of the color of their skins thats wrong . I mean anyone could be a terrorist or terrorists could plant something in a innocent persons bad so it depends on what they used to decide if you are suspicious or not .
If everyones bag was being searched then it wouldn't make me mad but if they picked you because of the color of your skin that would make you mad

They go through my stuff all the time. Airport security will usually separate those with laptops and ask for a more thorough hand inspection. I remember after 9-11, they would ask you to turn on your laptop to make sure it wasn't just a shell.

The ticket is to cooperate with them. Remember, arguing with TSA will cause more conflict.

Yeah starting an argument is just gonna make then inconvinience you more cos they aint gonna wanna deal with you as promptly as they would

I would've thanked him for doing his job like I would've expect him to. That just means they're aware and observant of things.

Its good to see that they are on the ball ready and alert, I would have thought good for you and had a little laugh later telling my mates lol.
