windows xp or windows vista?

Ya go with XP for that system. Normally you want to take the recommend spec's and double it. Thats a easy roll of thumb and thats not saying that will even be 100%

As dude_se said vista uses around 850-1100mbs of ram depending on how many gadgets etc you have running. Theres all your ram right there just for the OS.

I'd say those specs are better for XP. I wouldn't recommend Vista on those specs.
