This happen to anyone else?

Does this happen to anyone else? Every month or so, I get a spam e-mail which looks like it's coming from my own e-mail address when I hover my cursor over the "from" field in my inbox. In the "from" field it shows something like "viagra@admin.com" or similar, then, when I hover my cursor over it, the pop-up box with the full address shows "viagra@admin.com<my email address here>" where the <my email address> part shows my own email address?? It makes me concerned that some spammer somewhere is using my e-mail address to send out spam, or maybe there is something on my computer that sends it out every month because I have my own email address in my address book under test message in case i ever want to send myself an e-mail to test something. Anyways...long winded, but that's it. Happen to anyone else like this where it looks like the spam is coming from your own e-mail address?

Yes, I get those once in awhile. I usually have Messenger up and those email even use an avatar making me think that it's from my contact list. I'm smart enough to know that it's spam so it's not a big deal for me.

i just hope no spammer is using my e-mail address,,,,i would hate to get in trouble for something i'm not doing. like if they're sending out thousands of spam e-mails or something. that's really weird that it shows my own address as part of the "from" field in my inbox.

Well, I use my school's email and it is really secure. I have not gotten spam for four years straight. My yahoo! account on the other hand...

Our school email was mental on security . For one you had to add any afress you wanted to recieve emails from to the list otherwise it would just get deleted by their spam filters . Unless it was an internal email from other students or staff . So say i wanted to recieve an email from my parents home email adress i had to add it to a list . Kind of like a blocking list in reverse
