Windows Media player help questions?????

Everytime I put in a DVD it says this to me, "Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings."

How can I fix this. I have a very good video card I think and also my color is way off, it looks bad when playing video files. Like am I missing some things, when I did the "Microsoft Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility" it said I was missing MPEG-2, is that what it is and how can I get it. If it is true, can I steal it from another computer, like my labtop?

Try re downloading Media Player or checking the updates to see if there is a way it will re download MPeg-2. Thats probally why its not displaying.

I think you need the correct codecs to play them try this http://www.free-codecs.com/download/XP_Codec_Pack.htm . If your running Vista there codecs are there as well.
