How Do i trust this? (CPU HSF)

Hahaha, no you can't. You've got to spend at least $200 for a good water cooling setup. Kits just don't cut it most of the time as well.

for one that is 100% silent yes but one with a radiator with a fand there not THAT expensive. thermaltakes big water kit is 110$, 20$ off what i said, not bad for a pretty good WC kit. and yes most of the time its better to build you own but the blocks alone cost 40$, not as price effective IMO

Haha, the Thermaltake kits are terrible. And I'm talking about ones with radiators with fans.

There's a reason it costs more...the parts are higher quality. You want quality parts for A - better cooling and B - reliability. You'll get about the same temperatures with those kits as you would a decent air cooling setup. And good luck when your $90 watercooling system leaks all over the place...

Water cooling is one thing that you cannot get cheap. You run the risk of ruining your entire computer.


There is only one water cooling kit I would even consider getting - the Swiftech H2O-120. Even that kit, for $250, isn't anything amazing. I'd say if you really wanted a kit, get one of these:

Okay looking some results over yes the thermalright ultra holds a slim advantage. Over my HSF it holds a 1C at idle and 4C @ Load in a closed case. If you want to run a open case which I don't recommend the ultra holds a 2C at idle over the zalman and loaded 5C.

Now whats weird is the part with the maximum frequencys. The highest obtained on a quadcore with the ultra was 3357MHz and the highest with the Zalman was 3366Mhz. Ultra keeps it cooler but the Zalman can make it overclock higher explain that?

The Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme is the best cooler tested so far at AnandTech.

I have a 9700 too, but I wish I had a Ultra 120, I might order one this weekend. There are two things that bug me about the Zalman 9700: It makes a really annoying noise on anything above low, and I cut myself on it whenever I work inside my computer.

And for water cooling, AFAIK, thermaltake uses aluminum in their watercooling setups. For you chemistry buffs out there, Copper + Aluminum = what? Galvonic corrosion. google some images, you'll be surprised.
 
i wanna get it but i will only get it if i get some more money from my bro(who if he doesnt give any money towards this new comp he wont go on at all)
it is expensive as hell with a slyte things fan but i want it :D...... :(
 
It won't fall as long as you mount it right. The bracket is engineered to distribute the load just right so it doesn't even put that much stress on the motherboard.

If you want a smaller HSF though, I know Rudster swears by this thing:

Just got one of these a week ago for my 5200+. Working quite well.

Plus, I was able to install it without taking the motherboard out. I just had to pull the power supply to be able to see.

never been able to that. had to put it on like 3 times now :) i like rebuilding my computer
