Hey guys, I just assembled a new build and all I am getting on start up is a long beep followed by two short ones.

specs:
680i Evga mobob (Phoenix BIOS)
e6600 CPU (AS5 tp, stock HS)
2 gigs corsair ram.
600W Coolmax PSU

Anybody know what might be wrong with it?

Open up the side of your case and take a look at the LED display. Take that error code (the LED dispaly) and check what it says about it in the manual.

This is the error:
7F POST error check
Check POST error and display them and ask for user
intervention

1 long followed by 2 short usually means some sort of video adapter problem.

Reseat your video card, and make sure any necessary external PCI-E cables are plugged in.
If that doesn't help, try a different video card.

Yeah, the card is seated fine. The thing about trying out new ones is I am away from my usual workplace, and I only have this computer and this card with me.

It is pretty old. Is there a way to check it if I do not have access to another comp or another gpu?

Completely the same thing happens. Same three beep codes, with the same 7F error message.

Alright, that's what I thought would happen. I'm almost positive there's something wrong with the video card. The error would've most likely changed if it was something else.

The only way to be able to tell for sure though is going to be to try another video card.
