These are the components I'm planning on using in the new rig and I want to know if they are all compatible, I had planned on assembling this rig personally, but there is a computer shop nearby where the fella will build the PC at cost, plus $50 for labor, and gives his work a 1 year warranty:D

-Edit-
Also, do y'all think the PC will overheat with just the case fans? because that's all the cooling i have, except the heatsinks that come with some of the components, do you think it'd be wise to invest into some more cooling?

any feedback would be appreciated! thanks in advance.

do you plan on gaming with this. the 8600GT sucks for gaming. you should get the asus board at least the 8600GTS but IMO DX10 is overated for now and you should get a higher end DX9 card unless you can afford 8800 series. also get DDR2 800 ram not DDR2 667. the E6320 has more cache for a dollar more ;)

Dual booting will be fine for you. However, I do suggest getting the 680i chipset. Specifically Evga 680i SE mobo, it is a bit better than the one you have. Also, the e6300 is weak. You might want to go a bit higher...

You could get the 680i for an extra 20 bucks, so I do not see a problem with that.

I'll go ahead and change the processor and ram then, and I'll use it for a little gaming, but not playing alot online or anything since my internet connection is rather slow. And I'd like to keep the build around $1,000 (Excluding monitors and stuff). I imagine I could downgrade the PSU so I could have a little more cash to put toward a better video card, do you think that'd be a smart move?. Also, is there much difference between the two mobos in my list? otherwise i'm kinda leaning toward the cheaper asus board.

Would this be a good video card for gaming?

the 7950GT is great for gaming. little overpriced IMO because the X1950PRO offers a little worse performance at almost 50$ cheaper. before rebates its 70$ cheaper last i saw. but ive always like nvidia better for some reason

The P5B will own the 680i at overclocking any day. It's also rock solid. P965 chipset. I have that exact mobo, it's great, get it.

I also have that case, hard drive, and DVD burner, excellent choices there.

That's an awesome PSU, but overkill for you. This is a great PSU that will suit your needs:

If you're going to do any even slightly serious gaming, you'll want a better video card, even an 8600GTS would be better. This is assuming you want DX10.

Creative sound card drivers suck, no other way to put it. I wouldn't get a Creative. This isn't a bad card in that price range:

You'll probably want some DDR2-800. This is only $25 more, and with the money you save getting the Silverstone PSU, it would be worth it. This is an awesome deal:

I dual boot XP and Vista with very similar specs to that, it will work just great. Install XP first.
