what power supply will i need i only have a crappy gpu till the future geforce 6800 thanks

Um...the GeForce 6800 series is an old card...did you mean the 8600 series? The 8600 series is already out.

If you did mean 8600, then I'd say a 500 watt PSU to be safe. Although why get such a low end graphics card with such a high end system?

400W should be enough, though you might want to get like a 600W so that when you can afford a better vid card you don't need to get a new psu.

Why get a quad core processor and a relatively slow GPU?? You could get an E6600 for $250 cheaper, plus the $100 for a 6800 is a $350 GPU. That's enough for an 8800GTS.

no its a geforce 6800 its a very old card i just cant afford to buy a better gpu yet

Thats crazy man. Spend that much for a quad core processor and then put a geforce 6800 hundred in it. Thats like buying a Porshe and stopping at Burger King for dinner.

I'd say you'd be better off getting a core2duo with the money you save you could pick up 2 8800GTS's and SLI them.

If you already have the 6800 then still get the quad core with the ram and then get an 8800 r even an 8900 if they are oout then
but if you dont already have the 6800 do as freestyler said , get an e6600 then get a better gpu with the saved money

as for the psu well a 400w will do for know but if you plan to get a better gpu may be better to get a 600w+ now then wh4en you get a new gpu you wont need a new psu
