I have had good luck with F-Secure's scanner, it couldnt hurt to run a scan.

and it matches everything that u have said. i would reinstall nod32 because that is like the best thing there is to get rid of it really. run in safe mode. run hijack this and post the log here too. a housecall wouldnt hurt. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Goto www.eset.com and download NOD32 AV. Run this in safemode and do a scan. I would suggest that you connect your dads drive aswell and scan that because there are probably nasties on there that are getting transfered back when he connects it to the pc.

I second that. I bought a license for NOD32 the other day, because I like to support the developers unlike some people and installed it using the settings Raffaz provided on that official NOD32 support forum and it functions great. IMON scans every image and page and stuff from the internet as it's loading and I don't notice it's running. Great protection.
