I got a couple XP Home SP1 keys and a couple PCs in need of an OS, but I don't have a copy of XP Home SP1, and I haven't been able to find a copy, looking through torrents, that have not been cracked in some way... I need to know if any of you could find a torrent for a legal (not hacked/cracked) copy of an XP Home SP1 disc image. These PCs are to be sold eventually, so I don't want to deal with the illegal stuff.

Thanks

most of the torrents aren't cracked in any other way except they probably have a keygen/a working key with them, or then they are cracked so that windows won't lock after the activation perioid.

Anyway, just downloading one of those would work, just use the cd key you have instead of the one that comes with the download and everything should be fine. Also if you still don't want to get one of those just see if you can borrow win xp home cd from a friend or something.

Ok, I'll search again and see if I can find anything with just a keygen, or an actual ISO and nothing more. Most of what I saw was stuff that was activated as soon as it was installed.

just use magik jelly bean factory to change the key

Note that it shouldn't have to be SP1 either. The CD keys aren't specific to service packs, just to the OS.

PM sent of an OEM CD rip Windows XP Home torrent.

I'd rather not have to buy a disc...

So I can use a CD key that came on a PC from 2002 (before SP2 came out) and use it with an SP2 XP installation? I think I was told before that I couldn't do that, but maybe I'm just totally confusing myself...I'm kinda fried right now after working the later shift at work :p

If you don't want to deal with illegal stuff, buy OEM discs and include them in the price when you sell. If you don't want to deal with buying a disk, deal with the illegal stuff. That's about how it's going to work.

Yeah, as long as you have an XP Home CD and an XP home Disk (or what ever you are trying to install, as long as they match) it doesn't matter the version of CD you use.
