Well, I've been looking at Newegg.com a lot and noticed their awesome wish-list technology. I spent a few minutes compiling a list for an “ultimate computer”. It would take me some time to collect the money to build this and I know by the time I do, there will be parts 5 times better at almost half the price, but this is just experimental at this stage. This would also be my first “complete” build.

The OS will be Vista Ultimate… :)

Of course, enough fans and heat sinks to keep this baby running cool. I also have no idea what case to buy because I need one with a fairly large size (to accommodate cords and extra parts) and good airflow.

Please don't hate me, I've seen a lot of posts asking if a certain build will work or not, this is just… a need-to-know sort of thing…

Thanks guys! Love the forums! :D

Do not get the Extreme, go for the Quad Core. As for the 8 GB of RAM, you do NOT need it. Vista Ultimate doesn't even support all of that.

For that money you should also be getting an SLi ready mobo, like the 680i chipset which is great.

Ahh... looks much better to me. I am sure people will agree with me when I say that is a very nice gaming machine.

Thx, Thelis.

Almost all my life, I've always wanted the ultimate PC, but I have never got this close to actually getting it.

I just wish I could get the money for it sooner than later. At least I have a McDonalds down the street to help. :)

Good point.. Im guessing what I'm saying is I've never had this "get up and do something about it" mentality. Gotta love staying up for 40 hours on end just doing random stuff on the computer.

hell yes! and i have done it on more than one occasion in the past 2 weeks alone. going on about 14 hours straight now, but seeing as its the 4th, probably going to go another 24 ish hours.

get the DFI 680LT motherboard. Also, get the QX6800. As for RAM, 4GB will be fine.
