I was wondering if this card will run F.E.A.R., it's a GeForce FX5200 128MB, AGP, 8x.


These are my specs:


2.00GHz
AMD Athlon 2400+
512MB RAM (184pin, PC2700)
200W power supply
GeForce4 MX (At the moment, hoping to get this card if it'll run FEAR, because I don't want to have to change the power supply.)

i tryed running fear with it on my old old old comp
its to week
u need an ati x1300
or a nvidia 6200
to run it in ok settings with 30 fps and up

You could get an FX5900. I got an FX5200, and I don't think it will do any major gaming. I can play Halo and NFSMW on medium settings with the desktop in my sig.

EDIT: you will most likely need a new power supply to play that game as any supported hardware will not run on just 200W.

I doubt it, you can't run a modern game on dinosaur hardware.

the FX5200 is terrible, I have one, I have my doubts about whether or not you can run that game on your computer.

if u dont have an agp slot they do
make 6800 in pci i think
if u got an agp go for 7600 for x1300 and another half g of ram
becouse i think thats all u can do with out boddel necking your pc

No, you wont be able to play Fear on an FX5500. You will have to maybe upgrade to a 6800+, but they are all PCI-E, so i suppose you could upgrade your mobo.

for ur info i got the vid card and if u want to play FEAR get a 6800+. Any and that video card is like $32 and u need a $75 one at least. If i where u i would do a Overhual like i am doing and build it. My 5200FX is OCed and it cant even play ANY GAMES THAT ARE ACTUALLY INTERESTING. Rome total war is a ferget Low settings and shuts down alot. U need more RAM a better GPU a better CPU a better Mobo for the new GPU with pci-e and a bigger PSU. If u want the specs of the computer im going to get with all the parts thats about $800 Aim me or just post again

thats not true at all
he just wants to run fear not a whole new system
and he can run it with a minor upgrade(in low-mid settings)
with a couple other games but dont expect to be playing crysis or bioshock
cpus fine
ram it can run it but ud be better off with 1g
video card like i said before if u have a pci slot get the 6800 thats the highest card made for pci
if u got agp go for a 7600 because u dont want to boddel neck
