Problem with writing videos to dvd and then trying to play them on a tv.

Ok i have a a video in a wmv format and I was able to write it to a blank DVD disk not a cd, a dvd and it plays fine on computers but it doesnt work on a dvd player for a tv.You know what I mean right?Does it have to do with the file type?Do I need to convert it to a diffrent format and what program do I use?

You need to convert the file to DVD format. To do this, you need something like WinAVI or NeroVision. Both will convert movies stored on your PC to a DVD.

Yeah, basically a standalone DVD player can't play .wmv files. They only support MPEG files. So as said above, you will need to convert them first.

WIN AVI, NERO7 or SUPER DVD CREATOR I use all the time, If you looking for video files go for AVI formats first then use one of the above, they are simple to use just select the program, find the file you want to convert to DVD format, put your blank disc in then select start. leave your computer for an hour or so and when you come back its on a DVD for you.
