Should I Buy This Hard Drive?

Hi!

For a while, although it hasn't been at the top of my list, I have been looking to get a large internal or external HDD. Both of my computers are hand-me-downs, although they don't play the latest games, they are great for my needs/wants. My computers are approximately this:
Desktop:
HP Brand
1.6gHz Intel Pentium 4
512mb ram
Geforce4 with 64mb video ram
80GB internal HDD
30GB internal HDD
DVD drive
CD-RW Drive
USB 2.0
Laptop:
Dell Inspiron
1.4 or 1.6gHz Intel Pentium 4
256mb ram
Some ATI video card with 16mb video ram I think
30 GB internal HDD
DVD drive
Floppy Drive
USB 1.1
Anyways, my problem is that I use my desktop because of the HDD's for my iTunes library, and recently it has been growing fairly large because I have been ripping a bunch of DVDs which average a little over a gigabyte in size since I encode them to be able to be viewed on a TV. I was thinking of getting either an internal or external HDD, but after researching, today, I saw this add:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...ategoryId=pcmcat107700050005&id=1164155964057
My friend has one of those, I even used it on my laptop once to play Warcraft III off of it for a LAN game with him and another friend. Even though my laptop uses USB 1.1, it was able to load the game and play it at an extremely reasonable speed.
Additionally, I would probably use this HDD to keep backups of my files, and have it store my main copy of my iTunes library on it (it's consolidated to one iTunes folder).
Would this be a good HDD for me? I might bring it to a friend's place every now and then, so I would have to carry the power adapter, but it seems like a reasonable drive.
Should I take this offer before it ends? Or should I wait some more?

Thanks! :D

Oh dude, why in the name of god would you buy an ex hdd from bestbuy?

Get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148140 for the desktop.

And for the lappy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136022

Wow, thanks. That internal one looks great, but the laptop one looks to be basically the same external HDD except with less storage for only $5 less. Doesn't seem to make much sense, but I guess I should add that I would be sharing this drive between both computers.

Thanks for your help! :D

Well, I just dislike Best Buy. If you want I'll find you a good Ex. HDD

Thanks, but that's okay, I did a lot of research on prices already and I usually just buy online from amazon.com when I do. I was just curious what the computerforums.org users thought of this drive.

Why wouldn't it be compatible freestyler? From what I see it should work, but then again I am wrong a lot of the times.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. If both of his drives are IDE and running in a master/slave configuration, he will have to get rid of one, or buy a SATA drive if there are SATA ports on his mobo.
