Wipeing my harddrive

Thanks for all the help. Everything is like new except I can't put my computer into standby mode anymore. If you have any ideas on how to fix this it would be great. Thanks.

Can you explain that a bit more? Whats the problem? Why cant you put it in standby mode?

go to the control pannel and look at the power options in there .

i find i cant use standby or hibernate or stuff like that either due to my graphics card drivers or due to settings in power options

When I wipe my HDD, I back my stuff up to some form of media and then run Boot and Nuke. It is a small Linux Distro that runs great and it completely wipes your HDD. It takes a while, but it is a great and sure way to clean your HDD. Here is a link to it:
