ok i hate vista we all know, but the layout of it rocks, everything else is evil but the looks rocks, i need a new look to my comp without killing the cpu usage, my previous comp had alienware skins which took up the whole cpu usage up, even the WoW ones i had killed the cpu again

i need a low cpu usage skins that are vista, i run a xp os but i love the look of vista ( again ) give me links if u know any good vista skins

cheers

If you want a system to look like vista then buy vista.:)

The skins your on about cause nothing but problems IMO, there have been loads of people on here that have needed to clean install etc. Im sure they will respond if they see this.

If you still wanna do it then look here. Theres tons out there.

umm well i have diff views of this because i think aslong as your are fairly knoledgable with computers then you can put skins and unoficail themes on without n e porblems.

like if you replace your uxtheme.dll file with a cracked 1 then i have you can apply all sorts of cool themes like these http://themes.belchfire.net/themes_category-1.html

if you dont know about replacing the uxtheme.dll file do a google search on it.
but as i said i have seen alot of ppl not really knowing what they are doing and just end up with a load of spyware asware and crap on their computer coz they download programs that they think will change there appearacne of the pc but infact just is a load of spyware.

but the uxtheme.dll has been fine for me and have had no problems at all ......so far lol

Edit: think i just found what your looking for once u done the uxtheme.dll thing look at this http://themes.belchfire.net/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=6083.
NOTE: I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS 1 SO I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY

I agree with you. If people know what they are doing then there should'nt be any problems. No offence to macandpc, but im guessing that he does'nt know what hes doing, because he has came here for advice.

Also worth mentioning that there are a few programs that are very buggy (i cant remember the names now, but i've seen a few problems on here caused by them) so in that case, it does'nt matter if you know what your doing or not, your're still gonna have problems.

All we can do is outline the risks, and then he can make an informed decision at his own risk.:)

yea patching "uxtheme.dll" is the best way. no programs needed, no fuss. you just find themes and apply them like normal xp ones (either put them in the themes folder or just double click them, easy)
