Weird Issue

I'm running Windows XP Pro on an Intel Celeron. Occassionally, after I've been playing a specific game for awhile, the game freezes at the same point while trying to load a saved game. Terminating the game and restarting it results in the exact same problem, which can usually (but not always) be resolved by rebooting the system. This happened today, and I restarted the system. For some reason however, when the system had finally booted up, it did a hard reboot upon my clicking of my user icon on the welcome screen. When it finished loading for the second time, I was able to login. Almost immediately after loging in, I was presented with a message stating that "Windows has recovered from a serious error.". The event log says the following about the "serious error":

I would seem to me that this is a heating issue, but the system BIOS says that the CPU is running at a chilly 58-60 degrees celsius.

Any help is greatly appriciated!

This info is taken from another site. Its saying that its possibly device drivers or RAM problems.

Maybe try running memtest on your computer to rule out the obvious RAM problem, then if that doesnt sort it then we can work on the device drivers.

A pool header issue is a problem with Windows memory allocation. Device driver issues are probably the most common, but this can have diverse causes including bad sectors or other disk write issues, and problems with some routers. (By theory, RAM problems would be suspect for memory pool issues, but I haven't been able to confirm this as a cause.)

i know celerons can take up to 90C but check your bios. my default shutdown point is 70C so yours might be lower than you want it to be. dont know why the save game would hang though. maybe it is corrupt and causes some time of stabablity issue. i dont know for sure

Your proccessor might not be able to handle it(Depending what game), but i think you might need monre memory.

OK. I'll run a memtest and hard disk scan and post my results.

My BIOS shutdown point is 70C as well. The game that I am playing has been previously upgraded to its most recent version.

The game seems to run, for the most part, smoothly until the previously mentioned problem pops up. If I needed a better proccessor, then don't you think my CPU would be overheating and my computer running slowly? As for memory, if I didn't have enough of it, wouldn't the game just crash with a nice error message? My computer meets the system requirements, but not the recommended system requirements.
