i am trying to decide on these 2 cpu's for gaming, i am thinking about getting one of these the specs are the same but the cost is $200 apart can anyone tell me what chip is better for gaming and if these chips are good for gaming thanks!

Any particular reason to go for AMD and not Intel??

Technically, the FX-74 would be better, but it's not really worth it. It's just more powerful. But no game out there will need more power than the 6000+, so I'd just get that.

Why not go for the core 2 6420 with 4m cache or the 6600 they both beat amds in price performance and real world use.

Yeah.

I would also opt that you go for a C2D as they currently outperform the AMD chips. Though if you really want to stick to AMD I would go for the 6000+.
