I do agree, if He has the extra money, go for the e6600. It is the best bang-for-your-buck when it comes to the Core 2s. However, if that is too expensive, look into the E6320, it will perform a little better, for not much more money ($1.50 more to be exact)

I just hate when people give advice and pretend that they know everything when they're clearly wrong.

Get this RAM instead, same thing in 2 x 1GB sticks for cheaper:

And then you have room to upgrade to more RAM eventually.

Yeah, don't get 4x512, that is really silly. Get what Freestyler posted or this which has much better timings but it is 20 bucks more so it is up to you.

Also, for the HD you might want to look at this Seagate. The one you have now is fine but this hard-drive has thousands of good reviews and slightly better times. I own it and I am always the first into a map while playing CS:S it is a beast.

Edit: Also, I encourage a slight CPU upgrade, maybe E6420 or something, but once again-- it's up to you.

I updated the links...a better looking case, only 2 sticks of 1GB RAM, a better looking/cheaper case, some smaller hard drives.
