I have a 4.1 speaker set and a 2.0 speaker set on the same system (6.1?, lol) It's not really true surround I don't think. I just got 4 speakers on the table, and two on the wall above the monitors, sub on the floor (actually on a box that is on the floor). It just adds extra power to the setup. I got a random sound card that has a place to plug in 2 speaker sets at the same time. Don't got a clue what it is, but it works so I don't care.

there is such thing as a 6.1 setup
there is even amps with 7 speaker slots for 6.1 so your no alone

2.1 just because I don't have the room for anything more. I'm currently running a Klipsch 200 watt 2.1 system with the Asus SupremeFX 24bit/192kHz soundcard that came with my Asus Commando mobo.

not officaily but you you can make a setup with 2 woofers and 4 satelites hell you could make a system with 11 satelites and 6 woofers if you really wanted too
