Alright so heres the deal, Im about to reformat my computer and I wanted to try putting windows on its own partition which gives me a few questions

1) Does this actually make a difference compared to a normal install of windows?

2) What free program will allow me to do this easily?

3) I have a 74Gig raptor so how much space should i give the windows partition while still giving me as much room as possible for my other stuff?

You can partition the drive from your windows installation disc, theres no need for other software.

Like raffaz said, the windows CD will do it for you if you want it to. As for what size to make it, 5GB should be enough, but I would make it along the lines of 7 GB to be safe.

Ok thanks guys, about the first question, is there a difference between doing it this way and the normal way, like what are the benefits?

The main benefit is, if you have all your music etc on a seperate partition and you need to format the OS, then you can do so without having to backup all your music etc, because they are totally seperate.
