Im not too sure were this goes,

Quick question.(very quick)

Is it possible to host/have a FTP on dial up connection?

Thanks.

Thank you!

Yeah, i figured the speed. But if you can get diffrent line connection(so you dont get timed out? or cut off by phone calls) and had the dial up all the time, then it is possible?

Surely you can get a speed boost though, got to be a freeware or some type out there?

Dial up is limited to I think 48 kB/s upload bandwidth max. I doubt you'd ever see those speeds in real life though, 30-40 kB/s max would be more likely. And that's under perfect conditions. Needless to say, it's not going to be fast no matter what.

I'd recommend FileZilla for a good free FTP server:
http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/

Really, so no way of faster speed? Not even some type of download manger? Say if you are uploading a file.

Thank's don't need that, but i'll look at it, we have a server already(on DSL).

That for the info, any more, please post, like hint's etc.

Has anyone tried a FTP on dial up? comments etc would be handy.
