Funny you say NOD32 is "less resource hungry" than Kaspersky considering KASPERSKY relinquishes ram to other applications. So it's not so resource hungry as some people assume. ;)

Kaspersky has one of the best detection rates in the business. ;) Don't believe me?

It shows you don't know what your talking about.

Notice where NOD32 and the rest of them are? ;) Hope this helps.
WARNED you have been reported for flaming, if you do it again you'll suffer the consequences.

Hmmm, i never noticed this post till now, but this is what i think. All your reviews are by pc world, now i personally think they are a biased company as they sell Kaspersky products etc. TBH i wouldnt let them cowboys defrag my computer nevermind sort out my virus problems.:) Now heres a comparison for you to look at that proves you wrong.:)

I use AVG 7.5 Free myself and it has no problem updating. Usually does it really fast, smoothly and automatically.

I think me and 0x0161 have got it sorted out. It was a debate, things got a bit out of hand but life goes on. It's over now, no hard feelings for the guy.

Yes we do. We are both intelligent in our own ways. And Troy is right life goes on. Also, no hard feelings.

Consequenses? Let me guess, Being banned. ;) By blocking my IP address or better yet the entire netrange from my ISP? If that will make you happy AND YOU feel the punishment suits the "so called crime," then YOU do what you gotta do. Honest to gods truth it ---> Makes NO DIFFERENCE TO ME I have nothing to loose.

Cheers, homeboy, 0x0161

Thanks :) I will admit, kaspersky is a good program but I think they have one of the best research labs in the world. I'd use kaspersky and have used it in the past, but I tend to lean towards NOD32. The downside to NOD32 is that the interface isn't exactly user friendly. Also the spyware detection portion of it is questionable. Kaspersky does have a better antispyware. The internet security version of it is a bit pricey though, it's like 80 bucks when I last checked. Good news is that sams club has caught on and sells it now :p Also zone alarm now uses the kaspersky engine and it's a great product now. Bit defender uses it, but I'm not a bitdefender fan. I've always ranked NOD32 and kaspersky among the top of my choices for paid AV, whether or not it gets my top pick will be seen once version 7 comes out.

Raffaz,
I read those comparisons and was surprised at how poorly AVG scored on those tests, and how high avira scored. That seems to definitely be a comprehensive tests, although I think the final results come down to the user and their preference of an antivirus.

I totally agree, its down to the individual user. The thing with NOD32 is its only as good as the person who sets it up, and for the average home user its a bit complicated. Alot of people prefer something that they can use straight out the box and NOD isnt one of them. I did post a link to a guide for setting NOD up properly tho, so that should have helped a few people here.:)

I use AVG and i have no probz what so ever,There are better free antivirus out there though.
I have had the free version for over two years now, excellent, no problems whatsoEVER!!!!!
