and that would cost me $550
i would also keep my 450watt powersupply which is new...would that be enough for this system

also later if i feel like it i will get another set of corsair ram so i can have 4gb for kicks and giggles :)!....and this gives me room to always either upgrade my video card.....or my processor....get more ram....and thats about it but thats all i need :)...what do you think? future proof enough?

Looks good. I love the eVGA products, nice lifetime warranty when you register it.

I would get this RAM instead. it's only five bucks more, but it is faster and more reliable.

Also, if you upgrade the video card in the future, you may need update your powersupply. It does appear to be enough for this system, but after future upgrades.... Well, you would be pushing it to say the least.

for 10$ more than that you can also get those sticks which i have running at ddr2 800 4-4-4-12 with a slight voltage increase and a ram divider change. note this is one an amd system. you can also run these sticks at ddr2 1080 5-5-5-15 so there highly overclockable :D

Sorry rudster, I don't fully understand that. Are you meaning to say that it is an AMD system? It isn't. What did you mean?

@ Xiggy, I think you would be much better off upgrading the CPU to a C2D than with a pentium D. Especially since you are getting such a nice motherboard.

He said he would be upgrading it in the future, or at the very least wants to.

Rudster, I know that the Adata does seem like the better RAM, but I know the XMS2's work well with that board, which is why I recommended it. On the other hand I have not used the ones from AData, so I don't know exactly how they will react. I know they work in the 680 boards and they should work here, but since I can't be cirten I didn't want to recommend them.

However, I do trust your word that they work, so Xiggy, if it is in your price range, go for it.

personally i would have chose the XMS2 over the Adata but im glad that i couldn't afford to. all ram save a stick or 2 comes with a lifetime warrenty so ram should be the least of anyones worries. still havent had to deal with customer service yet :D. windows memtest ran fine at both overclocks.

i already have the pentium d man...im just keeping it and grabbign a core 2 duo later man :)

and i will just stick with the ddr2 675 xms2's because i like that company and im not going to overclock ne thing ne ways.

and i can always grab another pair later for 4gb of ram...which will be in a long time but hey newer games will be DEMANDING!

but i mean what are your opinions for someone making a system for $550 and coming out with this setup?...good....bad?...mediocre?

I would get the DDR2-800. It's a pretty big difference, and if you ever upgrade to a decent Core 2 Duo it'll be much happier with the DDR2-800, where the slower RAM could bottleneck it.

now wouldnt 667 ram be 1:1 with the e6320's stock fsb speeds

because 667/2 = 333.5x4 (intel bus is quad pumped) and you get :) 1334...so that would equal out even the faster clock speeds...but i guess i could go with ddr2 800 just because its always good to have extra speed so i dont stress out the ram...so ddr2 800 is the way to go :)

also im not overclocking just to let you know

also i may throw in one of those 3.5" card readers (sd and a bunch of other stuff) just because i have one but i would rather have it in my computer to take place of an ugly blank spot :)!
