My Specifications are:

1. Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
2. Seagate 80 GB Hard Drive
3. MSI Motherboard-P4MAM2-V
4. AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller
5. Kingston Memory

6. Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz

Are these all compatible If so What could cause a slow computer

Everything is fine except:

CPU is 800mhzs FSB (Front side bus) and motherboard is limited to 533 FSB, could bottleneck CPU but only slightly.

I am unsure of your question though, are you saying you are currently in possesion of these components and you are looking for a good way to boost the speed of the pc as it is slow.

Or you are planning to buy theese components soon..because if this is the case i would buy a Core 2 duo LGA775 board etc etc.

I think he has them already.
And there can be many reasons for a slow computer, but I'm going to take a guess and say it's something with the OS. Could be a virus, could be just general stuff like you haven't defragged etc or could be something else.

Back up your files and do a clean install of XP if all else fails.
