 I just oveclocked my OLD Intel Pentium 4 2.40 GHz to a whopping 2.75 GHz.

It was my first OC, I am so happy I didn't fry anything.

[grumble] stupid dell mobo tried to stop me... picked a fight with the wrong user [/grumble]

I got CPUcool which is a great program. Then when I had to choose the mobo, I chose ICS for the PLL manufacturer, and 952607 for the PLL type. Then I overclocked and fine tuned it until it couldn't go any farther with the stock fan.

Dell bioses don't have the option. I managed to get my p4 up from 2.4 to 2.8 back in the P4 days!

Is yours a prescott or northwood?

Yeah, anything higher than 2.75 and it BSODS on me.

I am just happy that I made a craptastic computer actually acceptable.

a BSOD means that ram is going to fast not your cpu. when the cpu runs into insatiability the screen just goes black and some computers can reboot themselves others you have to manually turn off the power and turn it back on

Right, I get the second one when I go over 2.75. Then I have to manually unplug it. It is fine on 2.75 though.
