psu

The 8600GT only requires a 350W PSU supplying at least 22A on the 12V rail. So depending on the specs of your PSU, it should work just fine.

Yup, it will work fine. The memory type on the video card makes no difference with the compatibility with the motherboard.

ok. how do u fidn the number of amps on a psu? and is 400w also good enuff for the 8600gt if it has the 22 amps on the 12v rail plus 2 gb of ram and a core 2 duo?

is mid tower form factor considered atx?

and look:

why is the 3.3 v have 22A and why +12v only have 20A. i havent seen any psu have a +12V dc output with more than 20A under it. does the capital A actually represent amps? i was just assuming.

Most all mid tower cases built these days are ATX.

I can't tell you why the 3.3V is at 22A. I'm not sure why they are built that way. But you are correct in that A stands for amps. That PSU should be ok. Depending on the card manufacturer, some only call for 300W and 20A.

Which 8600Gt are you getting?
