combining SATA and older Hard Drives

hi,

I hava a new computer with sata HD and wanted to use my older HD that isnt sata to store data.

I brought a pCI card and connected it to the computer so that the older hd can be seen as the new mother board doesnt support non sata hd directly

all is going well, the drivers installed, can see the hd in bios, can see when the computer starts up ,

BUT when go into my computer its not there??????

no question marks in device manager.


any suggestions
