Windows media play shows black screen..sound ok

I'm running XP Black screen on windows media player 11..Rolled back to 9...same problem

That's about it..the thing plays cause the sound is ok. but screen is black...IE7 or Firefox makes no difference..Don't know when it started.

Are you trying to play a film or something?? Have you got codecs installed?

what video type are you trying to play? avi? check for codecs, that's most likely what it is
