Vista Stuck on Shutdown

Hi,
I got Windows Vista Ultimate x64 about a month ago. Within this past week I've been having a strange problem. I'll click the shutdown button, and all the programs close and the sidebar disappears. However, then nothing happens. It just stays with all the programs closed, and I can't open a program. The mouse moves and I can click things, it's just that no programs will open and the computer won't shutdown.
Thanks for your help!

I had a similar problem with Ultimate. Traced it to a Linksys USB Wireless
B v4 adapter. Waiting. Have you any USB devices which similarly could cause this. Try unplugging.

I only have 1 USB, and it's a logitech mouse, I tried restarting without it, but I still got stuck, and I had no USBs plugged in, so I don't think USB is my problem. Thanks for the advice though.

Since Raffaz had a problem like that And it seemed to be driver related, try updating all of your drivers.

Does restart work fine, or is that glitched as well?
