Soundmax - Audio Problem in Vista

Hello All,

This is to do with my onboard sound on Asus P5B-VM motherboard.
I have installed both XP and VISTA on my system. I Have loaded motherboard drivers in both the OS.

Howerver..... The XP is detecting the sound, which is an 7.1 channel out perfectly. What I mean is that the soundmax jack control panels shows me all the jacks same as the way they are on the the motherboard. But in VISTA, the soundmax jack panel shows only 2 connectors?

what could be the problem? I have also updated the 'soundmax' (Asus Audio driver) for vista. but without any luck. Help much appreciated.

Have you ran the windows update in vista, that sorts most sound issues.

Yes, I have updated the vista to the date. Is there any particular updates, that take care of this problems, which I could have missed?

Have you checked the driver updates column on the left, when you run windows update?

I cant see anything like that in that panel....an u help me on that ?

When you goto windows update you should be to select a custom update. Once you have clicked there you will get a list on the lefthand side with drivers.
