Dell Motherboard?

Talking to a dell customer service employee, he informed me that only dell motherboards will fit in dell computer because of the dell layout, i was wondering if that is true or if dell is telling people that so everybody will buy a dell motherboard.

yea i believe it is true. you could always try putting another motherboard in...

Sometimes it is. The only thing I have seen prevent normal mobos from fitting are the jumpers for the on/off/leds. Some dell cases have a proprietary jumeper so you can't mess up, but it's not like normal ( 2 rows by x colums) but only one row, so it doesn't fit on the normal boards.
