hey,

building a computer for a friend its gonna have xp pro on it tell me what you think

Processor: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...N0X3Byb2R1Y3Rfb3ZlcnZpZXc=&product_uid=112706

RAM: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...WN0X3Byb2R1Y3Rfb3ZlcnZpZXc=&product_uid=91124

Graphics Card: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...N0X3Byb2R1Y3Rfb3ZlcnZpZXc=&product_uid=110046

Case: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...N0X3Byb2R1Y3Rfb3ZlcnZpZXc=&product_uid=105235

Lights: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...N0X3Byb2R1Y3Rfb3ZlcnZpZXc=&product_uid=105024

just a normal SATA 160 GB hardrive a satndard DVD RW drive

so come on what you think ?? n e suggestions id like to stay about that price nothing higher

i might buy a new heatsink & fan yet i dunno and maybe a case fan or 2

1 thing im not certain on is installing the lights i have never done this before but my friend is paying me 30 quid to do this for him and he insists he wants some form of lighting ??? how do they fit onto the case ? what kinda power do they use ?

and i might also buy a diff PSU i dont know yet

Is it gonna be used for gaming? You may actually wanna save some cash and downgrade that CPU if your not using it for anything heavy, esp with only a 7300 graphics card.

yeah i was thinkings that myself maybe to the e6300 or maybe the e4300

hes given me a £400 budget and said he dont want any change lol he dont do gaming but he does run alot of different programs at once

thats y its only a low end graphics card

i honestly would downgrade the processor or upgrade the memory/video card.

the light tubes stick on with little sticky pads, similar to those in cable tidy kits. above and below the glass - not on it! ha ha. they usually wire up via your harddrives and share a power connector similar to front fans.

SirMille hes not gonna be playing games the main reason i got an extra graphics card was just for dual screening and if he does play games it will only be second life please dont tell me he needs a proper good graphics card coz i dnt think he does

but as for the processor i think i will downgrade to the e6300

what about PSU i think theres gonna be enough Watts there dont you ?

hes getting me to build another in a couple of months with more along the lines of a £700 budget which im fairly scared about coz i onlt build cheap computers lol

£700 ill need some help with that guys ill be sure to start a new thread when starting that beast

so ... what bout the compatibility people ?? look ok ?? this my 3rd build and im still worried about parts not fitting

and again can n e 1 point out something i should know ?

personally i would go with an e6400 its like middleground
also i would get a 80gb sata for boot and software then another drive for storage cos that would makes things run slicker but that aint exactly essential
as for compatibility all looks fine and i cant see any isses and no you dont need a better vid card if it aint for gaming

hmm now u put ideasi in my head

how bout i keep the e6600 with that motherboard and RAM you suggested then in a month or so i get him to upgrade to 4GB RAM

i know thats an overshot for what he wants but he wants me to build another in a coulple of months so what would he get more done on

an e6600 with 4 GB RAM

or e6420 with 2GB RAM X 2 ??
