Ok,I want to settle this once and for all.....

I have heard good and bad things about the Ipod,Through Friends,Relatives and mixed reviews out of the net and magazines,But as usual they are mostly biased, and your either an ipod lover or hater.I want an honest and unbiased answer......Is the Ipod Worth getting?,Are there any major faults or problems?,are they easy to use?,how good is the screen?,and any other info would be helpful too.Thx in advance!!

yes the ipod is a great mp3 player. i don't have one but becuase of the price and features i bought an iRiver instead.

the Ipod has a crisp screen with vibrant colors, especially with videos. i mean if your heart is set on it go buy it :D

Well I have a 4gig one that I just use for listening to music, but Isnt the Ipod good for the fact that you can play games on them, Don't get me wrong I know that the Creative Zen is outstanding, but i'm just saying for the price

v.s the stuff you can do on it through small programs that you download and install for free v.s the stuff you can do on let's say the Creative Zen ..

But you are paying for those features, This can go both ways..I am satified w/my Ipod cause like I said I only use it to listen to music.

(I have swiftly swept the computer away from Istonian,
This I Black_Elite1(If I make an account.))

I have a Black 30G iPod Video,
I am also a Mac Hater.

The iPod I have is very good to me, no problems, and with iTunes, it's really easy to get music on (The iPod syncs with iTunes, others I don't know, because I only use iTunes)

In my opinion, The iPod is a very good mp, and something to look into.

Down side is the price, which can get a bit high.

I use my iPod for listening to FF music, and playing Tetris when FFIII is not in my hands,
Also I like the free G4 video Podcasts, and the Mega64 audio
iTunes is easy to use, just type in the card number from a store, ($15-50)
into the account, then put it on a playlist, plug in your iPod, wait for it to sync, then set the play list to add to the iPod, then apply.

Pretty easy to use.

Personally im not a fan of Ipods. I love the design and features but the one i had and the ones my friends have had, seem to have suffered from really useless batteries. It got to the point where the battery was only lasting for about 3 hours on a full charge so i got rid of it. Got a samsung now that has a battery that lasts for 30 hours!

Here's my opinion.

- If they give out within warranty, it doesn't take long for repair. Happened to me and they paid all shipping and stuff.

- Design is excellent.

- Battery life is pretty good. They charge through a USB Port on your PC/Mac.

- They can sync with YamiPod, iTunes and Real Player and some other programs... but most people use iTunes I'd imagine.

- They support MP3 and those M4P files from the iTunes Store.

- Sometimes lock up... but you just hold in menu and select and they will reset. no major problems really.

- Interface is streamlined and excellent. Nothing better.

Overall they are pretty good. I had to send mine in for repair 'bout 4 months after purchase, but other than that its been a good experience.

theyre good, if you use everyting the way it was meant to be, which would mean buying the songs from itunes, because u get the album covers and all and if u have all the album artwork and the songs named correctly, and evcerything in playlists, its great. it isnt so great if u use limewire.

I've had my ipod for about three years now and i love it. It works great.

Someone mentioned programs that it could sync with, and I want to add Winamp to that list.

The only negitive I've found with it is now that my battery is dying, i can send it into Apple for $100+ and have them install a new battery, or get a new one.

i read an article in a magazine how a guy got mad because his battery gained a memory after 18 months and wouldnt play more than an hour. he went around big cities with a stencil that said "ipod batteries only last 18 months" and spray painted this over EVERY ipod\apple ad that he could find. eventully apple offered the battery replacement service

@ celegorm you can buy an ipod battery and put it in yourself for way less money

i personally dont like ipods too much not because the ipod its self is bad but because of the price. all apple is doing is tricking people with little "technological" knowings to buy ipods for 200$. you can buy other MP3 players with the same size of memory for WAY LESS just different brand. and you dont have to deal with itunes and stupid MP4. also for who's music is "acquired" you cant put half of it on there without out looking for special programs away from itunes. i also hate how apple advertises there ipods memory as they can hold so many songs. they bas this off every song being 3mb. i encourage you to go into your music library and tell me how many of your songs with a half decent bit rate are around 3mb....not many. its all part of there plan to sell overly priced items. i dont care if it actually has a hard drive or flash memory which other mp3 players do use it is still a complete waste of money to buy one new. once there used though the price is reasonable ill say. and there quite easy to get stolen but thats a given. i know someone who stole an ipod of a teachers desk once the teacher too it away from someone  imagine how pissed she is now that the school lost here ipod. all there going to say is you shouldnt have used it in class.

Yeah, i know you can buy a new battery for less money but from the reviews i saw for them it didn't look or sound easy.
