DVD drive

I am in the market for a DVD drive for my computer. Currently do not have one.

I have no idea what to look for. I need just a basic DVD player, nothing special.

Anyone have any thoughts on what to look for, or better yet, any recommendations on specific brands etc??

Ok, 1st of all their are tons of dvd players out there on the market. if you just going to basically going to use it for watching movies. You can get one pretty cheap at any local store that sells them.

Bestbuy / Curcuit City / Staples ect.. they don't cost all that much either. around 30 to 40 bucks will get you a nice one.

Also go with a name brand you know, such as LG / Sony / ect..

Now if You want to get the most out of one, and want a really good one, then go with one that has a dual layer format, one that is DVR- OR DVR + readable and writable.

teah i would say you would be better off getting a dvd burner now cos dvd rom is about #10 yet dvd bruner is only a little bit more say #17

LG DVD burner drives are about 40 bucks new.
